Damaged Freight
AmericanHVACparts.com will not be responsible for damaged freight. It is the responsibility of the consumer to inspect all merchandise immediately upon delivery and to properly file all freight claims to obtain replacement equipment or compensation for repairs.
All products are inspected, checked, and packaged by the manufacturer prior to release to the carrier. Upon delivery to the carrier, the shipment technically becomes your property. We specify that all equipment items be securely strapped to a wooden pallet prior to shipment, which greatly reduces the likelihood of damage during transit. But in spite of our best efforts, shipping damage can and does sometimes occur. Here's how to protect yourself:

• Before signing the delivery receipt, make sure you have received all the items specified on the bill. If anything is missing from the shipment, note this on the delivery receipt and have the driver sign your copy
• Always note any external damage to cartons on the delivery receipt and have the driver sign your copy
• We highly recommend that you unpack each carton in the driver's presence and carefully inspect each item. Note any damage on the delivery receipt and have the driver sign your copy. Contact the carrier immediately to file a claim
• If you discover concealed damage after the driver has left, immediately call the carrier and request inspection. Keep all packing materials and contents in the same condition as when the damage was discovered
• It is a good idea to take pictures immediately after discovering concealed damage in order to support your claim
• If the equipment delivered appears to be damaged beyond repair, please refuse the shipment and write on the shipping documents exactly why you refused the delivery. Make sure you get a delivery receipt from the trucking delivery person with your remarks written on it. This will permit us to obtain a new unit from the factory and have the trucking company handle the problem they caused.

Warranties & Service
All the equipment we sell is new and is covered by the full manufacturer's warranty. Warranty service work can be performed by any properly licensed HVAC contractor, But please be aware that labor charges are not covered by the manufacturer or by AmericanHVACparts.com. Some manufacturers charge a nominal fee to process returned compressors. Shipping fees for in-warranty parts are to be paid by the customer.

AC Equipment Start Up
In order to protect your warranty and for your own personal safety, split-system condensing units must be "started up" by a licensed contractor who has been EPA certified to purchase and handle refrigerant. Any qualified HVAC service company in your area can perform this work for you. At a minimum, the technician performing the start up should:

• Braze the line set (copper tubing) to the service valves on the condensing unit and or evaporator coil.
Use a vacuum pump to evacuate the refrigerant lines and cooling Evaporator coil.
Check the system for Refrigerant leaks.
Make the final electrical connections.
Charge the system with refrigerant to the correct pressures.
Check the overall running operation of the entire system (pressures and temperatures)

WARNING: Improper installation can void your warranty and expose you to potentially hazardous conditions. Do not attempt to do this work yourself!

NOTE: Puron (R-410A) units require special gauges and refrigerant. Serviceperson must be trained and certified to handle Puron installations

American HVAC Parts Model Numbers

What is a Mfg. Model Number?
A Manufacturer Model number is information that identifies which unit you have. It helps us provide you with the correct part for your specific unit. To match this information to your unit, refer to your unit's nameplate or label. This information may include numbers, letters, dashes or a combination of these three.

What is a Mfg. Part Number?
A Manufacturer Part Number is information that identifies the specific OEM repair part you have. It may be printed on the actual part, or be available in the Owner's Manual for the unit you have.

Where do I Look?
On your Heating and or Air Conditioning equipment there will be the manufactures information tag. It is very important to send the COMPLETE Model and Serial Number the way it is on the manufactures tag. Without this information it is very difficult to find the correct information even if you have the part number. The manufacture changes part numbers from time to time but the Model and Serial number of your equipment doesn't change.

Please always send the COMPLETE Model Number from the equipment that the part came out of and any part numbers that you may have
